Transmission Unit (Removal)

SST:

Preparation

Removal
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Jack up the vehicle and support it with safety stands.




3. Remove in the order shown in the figure, referring to Removal Note.

CAUTION: Do not turn the transmission over before removing the oil pan so that any foreign material will remain in the oil pan.

Removal note

Propeller shaft




1. Mark the flange for proper reassembly.
2. Remove the propeller shaft.




3. Install the SST into the extension housing.




Torque converter bolts
1. Lock the drive plate by using a screwdriver.
2. Remove the torque converter bolts by using the SST.

Transmission mount




1. Install the SST on the crossmember.




2. Support the transmission with a jack.
3. Remove the transmission mounting bolts and transmission mount.




Transmission

CAUTION:
- Do not drop the torque converter.
- Do not allow the transmission to lean toward the torque converter side.
- Do not damage the oil pipes.

Carefully lower and remove the transmission.
