Fuel Tank: Service and Repair

Fuel Tank R&R:

NOTE: Drain fuel before tank removal.

WARNING: Relieve fuel system pressure. Use extreme care when working on fuel system components. Keep sparks and open flames away.

COMPONENTS

1. Rear seat cushion
2. Fuel pump cover
3. Pump connector
4. Fuel hoses
5. Evaporative hoses
6. Insulator
7. Tank straps
8. Fuel tank
9. Protective cover
10. Separator

REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT

1. Remove in order shown.
2. Inspect components; repair or replace as needed.
3. Install in reverse order.

INSTALLATION NOTE

Fuel Hose Installation:

1. Push ends of main fuel hose, return hose, and evaporative hoses onto tank fittings at least 1.0 in (25 mm).
2. Push fuel filler hose onto tank pipe and filler pipe at least 1.4 in (35 mm).
