Air Conditioning Switch: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
Signals the ECU when A/C is running. ECU then ensures stable idling by compensating for extra engine load created by the A/C compressor.

LOCATION
Instrument panel.

OPERATION
When A/C switch "ON" signal is received by the ECU, it signals the idle speed control valve to increase amount of bypass air and raise idle speed.
