Preparation

Installation
1. Install in the reverse order of removal, referring to Installation Note.
2. Fill the transaxle with the specified amount and type of ATF after installation.







B6 SOHC

K8 DOHC

Installation note

Transaxle

WARNING: Do not allow the transaxle to fall from the jack.




1. Set the transaxle on a jack.




2. Mount the transaxle to the engine.

Tightening torque: 55 - 80 N.m (5.6 - 8.2 kg.m, 41 - 59 ft.lb)

Nut (torque converter)

NOTE: Tighten the nuts evenly and gradually.




B6 SOHC
1. Hold the drive plate by using a screwdriver inserted through the service hole (converter housing side).
2. Tighten the nuts through the service hole (oil pan side).

Tightening torque: 35 - 49 N.m (3.5 - 5.0 kg.m, 26 - 36 ft.lb)




K8 DOHC
1. Hold the drive plate by using a screwdriver.
2. Tighten the nuts.

Tightening torque 35 - 49 N.m (3.5 - 5.0 kg.m, 26 - 36 ft.lb)

Drive shaft

CAUTION:
- Do not damage the oil seal.
- After installation, pull the front hub outward to verify that the drive shaft is secured.




1. Replace the clips at the ends of the drive shafts and joint shaft with new ones.




2. Remove the SST from the differential side gear.
3. Push the drive shafts into the differential with the end of the clips upward.

Engine mounting member




1. Install the engine mounting member.

Tightening torque
Nut (A) : 38 - 51 N.m (3.8 - 5.3 kg.m, 28 - 8 ft.lb)
Bolt (B) : 64 - 89 N.m (6.5 - 9.1 kg.m, 48 - 65 ft.lb)




2. Remove the SST.

Oil cooler hose (inlet and outlet side)






NOTE:
- If reusing the hose clamp, make sure to install it into the groove on the hose.
- After installing, tighten the hose clamp by pressing down in the direction of the arrows shown in the figure.




1. Install a new hose clamp onto the hose.
2. Align the marks, and slide the oil cooler hose onto the oil cooler pipe until it is fully seated against the ridge.
3. Install a new hose clamp onto the hose at the center of the mark.
4. Verify that the hose clamp does not interfere with any other parts.
