EC-AT Control Unit

EC-AT CONTROL UNIT (K8 DOHC and B6 SOHC [California])

Inspection




1. Disconnect the EC-AT control unit connectors.
2. Connect the SSTs (Engine Signal Monitor and Adapter Harness) to the EC-AT control unit as shown.




3. Place the SST (Sheet) on the Engine Signal Monitor.
4. Turn the ignition switch ON, and check the EC-AT control unit terminal voltage, referring to the Terminal Voltage Chart.
5. If any EC-AT control unit terminal voltage is incorrect, check the related input or output devices and wiring. If no problem is found in these devices, replace the EC-AT control unit.






CAUTION: Never apply voltage to SST terminal A and B.

Replacement
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the EC-AT control unit connector.
3. Remove the nuts shown in the figure, and remove the EC-AT control unit.
4. Install the new EC-AT control unit.

Tightening torque: 19 - 26 N.m (1.9 - 2.6 kg.m, 14 - 19 ft.lb)

5. Connect the EC-AT control unit connector.
6. Connect the negative battery cable.
