AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Erase malfunction codes from ECU memory by disconnecting the negative battery cable and depressing the brake pedal for at least twenty seconds. Reconnect battery cable.
2. Test drive vehicle at more than 25 mph (40 kph), stop and turn engine off.
3. Bridge the "TEN" and "GND" terminals of the diagnostic connector.
4. If the MIL light illuminates ("CHECK") for approximately 3 seconds and then goes "OFF" and stays "OFF," no codes are present.
5. If the MIL light illuminates ("CHECK"), goes "OFF" and then starts flashing, codes are present.
6. Start the engine and check for additional codes.
7. If the same codes recur, recheck all work and look for other possible causes (intermittent?)
8. If any new codes are retrieved, repair as necessary.
If the same code(s) recurs, recheck repair work and look for what else might cause the code(s).
