Idle Speed
1. Warm engine to operating temperature. Check engine condition (spark plugs, leaks in hoses, etc.).2. Turn all electrical loads OFF.

3. Connect Mazda SST #49 B019 9A0 to diagnosis connector.
NOTE: If SST is not used, jump across connector TEN and GND terminals.
CAUTION: Be extremely careful when making connections to diagnosis connector. Improper connection will cause a malfunction. If power connector terminal is grounded (Blue: 1-pin), wiper 20A fuse will blow.

NOTE: When using an externally powered tachometer and/or timing light, attach to power connector located in left front of engine compartment (connector B1-11, blue: 1-pin).
4. Connect tachometer to diagnosis connector IG- terminal.
5. Set SST switch "A" to position 1.
6. Set TEST SW to SELF-TEST.
7 Apply parking brake.
8. Check that idle speed is within specification.
850 ± 50 rpm

9. If not, remove blind cap from air adjusting screw and adjust idle by turning screw.
10. After adjustment, install blind cap and disconnect SST or jumper wire.
