APPLICABLE MODELS/VINS
DESCRIPTION
A buzzing noise may be heard while the engine is running. This may be caused by one of the following:
1. A crack in the exhaust manifold heat insulator or insulator bracket(s).
2. A crack in the weld near the front flange on the front pipe insulator. The strength of the exhaust manifold heat insulator and the weld on the pipe insulator have been increased to prevent these concerns.
REPAIR PROCEDURES
Inspect the vehicle to determine which area is creating the problem. Refer to the illustrations to help identity concern areas.
3. If the noise is coming from the exhaust manifold heat insulator, replace the insulator with the new part.
4. If the noise is coming from the exhaust pipe heat insulator install a clamp band to correct the noise.
PARTS INFORMATION
NOTE:
The new heat insulator and the and old part are fully interchangeable.
