Drive Axles, Bearings and Joints: Service and Repair

1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove tire and wheel assembly.
2. Remove driveshaft locknut, Fig. 1.

3. Mark position of output shaft of differential and driveshaft for installation reference.
4. Remove driveshaft to differential carrier output shaft attaching nuts, then the driveshaft from vehicle.
5. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Align marks made during removal.
b. Tighten all bolts to specifications.
