Evaporative Emissions System: Testing and Inspection

OPERATION CHECK

EVAP System Operation:

1. Warm engine to operating temperature and run at idle.
2. Disconnect vacuum hose from solenoid valve and plug as shown. Verify no vacuum is felt at valve.
3. If not as specified, check solenoid valve.

SOLENOID VALVE CHECK

Solenoid Valve Testing:

1. Disconnect hoses and unplug connector. Verify no air flows through valve.
2. Apply battery voltage across solenoid connectors. Verify air now flows through valve.
3. If not as specified, replace solenoid valve.
