Hydraulic System, Brakes
Ensure battery is fully charged and ABS warning lamp goes out after engine is started. If lamp stays ON after engine has been started, ABS control unit has detected a failure and will not activate hydraulic unit.1. Raise and support vehicle, place shift lever in neutral or park position.
2. Ensure parking brake is released.
3. Check wheels for drag when rotating them by hand.

4. Connect a jumper wire between TBS and ground, Fig. 65 of check connector.
5. Apply brake pedal and verify that the right front wheel will not turn. With brake still depressed, turn ignition switch ON and verify that brake is released momentarily for approximately 0.5 seconds and wheel turns when pressure reduction operates.
6. Check remaining wheels in order as follows:
a. Left front.
b. Right rear.
c. Left rear.
7. If step 5 shows correct operation check the following:
a. Input system and harness of ABS control unit.
b. Fluid leaks, or intermittent failure.
8. Replace ABS hydraulic unit if necessary.
