EGR Valve: Testing and Inspection

EGR Valve Check:

1. Run engine at idle.
2. Disconnect vacuum hose at valve.
3. Connect vacuum pump to valve and apply 1.6 - 2.3 in Hg (40 - 60 mm Hg, 5.4 - 7.7 kPa) vacuum. Verify that engine runs rough or stalls.
4. If not as specified, replace valve if no other problems (such as clogged passages) are detected.
