By using the control unit's self-diagnosis function and a voltmeter, system malfunctions can be easily detected. Connect the voltmeter to the C terminal of the check connector in the engine compartment and read the output patterns, referring to troubleshooting chart, Fig. 1, and flow charts, Fig. 2 through 6.
