SYMPTOM A - DESCRIPTION
Door Glass Rattle at Top Rear Portion of Doors
Some 1993 MX-6's may exhibit a symptom where a rattle or squeak is heard at the top rear portion of the left or right door(s). This is due to a lack of lubricant on the door weatherstrip (body side).
SYMPTOM A - REPAIR PROCEDURE
If a vehicle is encountered with the above condition, perform the following procedure.
1. Spray a lubricant (silicone) on the affected portion of the weatherstrip.
2. Allow the lubricant to soak into the rubber for approximately three (3) to four (4) minutes.
3. Wipe away any excess lubricant with a cloth.
NOTE:
- Use a spray lubricant (silicone) rather than grease.
- After lubricating, insure that the rattle/squeak is gone.

SYMPTOM B - DESCRIPTION
Door Glass Rattle Inside Driver's Door
A rattling noise that sounds like glass-to-metal contact can be heard when the driver's door is closed with the glass in the fully open position. This condition is caused by interference between the door glass and the inner door panel. To correct this problem, padding was added between the door panel and window glass beginning April 27, 1992.
SYMPTOM B - VIN OF PRODUCTION CHANGE
1YVGE31**P5108799 April 27, 1992
SYMPTOM B - REPAIR PROCEDURE
If the above symptom occurs, and the vehicle was built prior to April 27, 1992, the following procedure should be performed.
1. Lower the door glass to the fully open position.
2. Remove the door trim by detaching the three tapping screws, one clip, and the sail plate. Figure 1.
NOTE:
To avoid damage use care when removing sail plate.
3. Disconnect the three electrical connectors. There are two at the front of the door and one at the rear. Figure 1.
4. Attach the urethane pad (P/N G00167061) where the glass contacts the inner door panel as shown in Figure 2. This location is just in front of the white plastic door molding clip. Figure 3.
5. Reconnect the electrical connectors and refit the door trim.
6. Confirm that the problem has been solved by opening and closing the door several times.
