NOTE:
The asterisk (*) in the VIN range can be any number (0 through 9) or "X".

DESCRIPTION
Some customers may complain of grinding and/or groaning when applying the front brakes. If a customer complains of vibration in the brake pedal and a high level of noise, follow the repair procedure below.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Verify the complaint.
2. Inspect the front rotors for grooves or blue spots. If present, machine the rotors to eliminate pedal vibration.

NOTE:
Replace the rotors only if machining will bring the thickness of the rotor below the allowable specification. Minimal Allowable Thickness: 22 mm (0.87 in.)
3. Replace the brake pads according to the instructions in section P of the workshop manual.

If the pad thickness is below 3.0 mm (0.118 in.) the brake pad is not covered by the authorization number and the 12/12 warranty applies. Only rotor machining or replacement, if necessary, is covered under this bulletin. If the brake pads are covered under this authorization number, retain the parts under the warranty parts stock policy.
