DESCRIPTION

The sunroof may not operate on some of the above vehicles. This may be caused by a damaged sunroof switch button.

The sunroof switch button has been established as a service part to prevent replacement of the entire overhead console. Customers complaining of this problem should have the vehicle inspected and if necessary, the button replaced according to this bulletin.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Check sunroof fuse.





2. Depress the sunroof button to the open or tilt position.

^ If looseness or excessive play is noticed, proceed to step 3.

^ If the sunroof will not open or tilt proceed to step 3.

^ If no looseness is observed, refer to the BETM for troubleshooting and repair information.

3. Remove the overhead console according to the instructions in section M of the BETM.

4. Remove the two (2) phillips head screws that retain the button to the console.

5. Use a small screwdriver to carefully pry the button from the side to remove it from the console.

6. Inspect the underside of the button.

^ If the button is damaged, replace only the button.

^ If no damage is present, refer to the BETM or workshop manual for troubleshooting and repair procedures.

7. Install overhead console according to the BETM.

8. Verify repair.
