DESCRIPTION
A knocking noise may be heard from the front or rear stabilizer links while driving over rough roads. This noise is caused by an excessive clearance between the ball joint housing and the ball joint. The clearance is created by dirt entering the housing and contributing to wear.
To prevent this concern, the configuration of the ball seat and housing have changed. Refer to Fig. 1. Customers complaining of this knock noise should have the vehicle inspected and if necessary the control link ball joint replaced with a modified part.
