The revised section(s) is indicated by an asterisk (*). Replace the original bulletin with this revised bulletin.

DESCRIPTION

A squeak is heard when closing the window of a 1993 MX-6. This condition is especially apparent during cold weather. The squeak can be caused by the door weatherstrip in the B-pillar area contacting the door glass near the belt line.

INSPECTION AND REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Put the window in the full down position.

2. With the door open, use your finger to expose the rubber flap of weatherstrip at the upper rear edge of the door. Figures 1 and 2

3. Using a knife, shave about 1.5 mm from the peak of the weatherstrip. Figure 3

4. Restore the weatherstrip and place a small amount of silicone lubricant in the pocket area where the glass and weatherstrip contact directly. Wipe the excess lubricant on the B-pillar door weatherstrip.
