INSPECTION & REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Perform the water leak test by opening the trunk and pouring water from a cup directly around the trunk hinge area on both the left side and right side.

2. If the water leak is identified, tighten the hinge nut to the upper limit of the tightening torque specified below.

Tightening Torque: 7.9-10.7 N-m (80-110 cm-kg, 70-95 in.lb.)

3. Perform the water hose test again as described above and check to see if the leak still exists.

4. If the leak still exists, remove the trunk assembly (with hinges) and install a trunk hinge gasket (GA5R 52 745B) between the body and the trunk hinge.

5. Install the trunk assembly and confirm that no leak exists by using the water leak test as described above.

NOTE:
When reinstalling the trunk assembly, refer to the specifications listed in the Workshop Manual, Section S.
