Line Pressure Test
This test measures line pressures as a means of checking the hydraulic components and inspecting for oil leakage.Preparation
1. Perform the preparation procedure outlined in STALL TEST.
Stall Test
2. Connect the SST to the line pressure inspection port (square-head L plug).
Procedure:
Procedure
1. Start the engine.
2. Check the idle speed in P range.
Idle speed: 700 - 800 rpm (with parking brake applied)
3. Shift the selector lever to D range and read the line pressure at idle.
CAUTION: Perform steps 4 and 5 within 5 seconds to prevent possible transaxle damage.
4. Depress the brake pedal firmly with the left foot and gradually depress the accelerator pedal with the right foot.
5. Read the line pressure as soon as the engine speed becomes constant, and release the accelerator pedal.
CAUTION: Idling for at least one (1) minute cools the ATF and prevents deterioration.
6. Shift the selector lever to N range and run the engine at idle for at least one (1) minute.
7. Read the line pressure at idle and at the engine stall speed for each range in the same manner.
Specified Line Pressure:
8. Install a new square-head L plug in the inspection port.
Tightening torque: 5.0 - 9.8 N.m [50 - 100 kg.cm, 44 - 86.6 in.lbf]
