Turbo Precontrol Actuator

SYSTEM OPERATION

Turbo Precontrol Actuator System Inspection:






1. Connect SST, or equivalent, to ECU. Turn ignition ON.
2. Short ECU terminal 4V and verify that solenoid operating sound is heard.
3. If not, check solenoid valve.

INSPECTION

Turbo Precontrol Actuator Check:






1. Disconnect vacuum hoses and connect SST as shown.
2. Verify that actuator rod moves when applying air pressure of 10 - 14 psi (69 - 98 kPa).

CAUTION: Do not apply pressure higher than 14 psi (98 kPa).

3. If not as specified, replace turbocharger assembly. Actuator is not replaceable as a separate unit.
