Sub Fluid Pressure

1. Install pressure test tools as shown in Fig. 5, using adapter tool No. 49 0.032 314, or equivalent, in place of tool shown.

2. Bleed air from system as outlined under Power Steering System Bleed.
3. Raise and support front of vehicle and block rear wheels.
4. Open tool valve, start engine and raise power steering fluid temperature to 122 - 140°F.
5. Raise vehicle speed to 40 mph, and measure fluid pressure.
6. If sub fluid pressure is not as specified in the Power Steering Pressure Specifications chart, replace oil pump assembly.
