Clearing Trouble Codes

1. Cancel service code memory by disconnecting negative battery cable for at least 20 seconds. Reconnect battery.
2. Remove test equipment.
3. Drive vehicle at least 31 mph (50 km/h) and depress the accelerator fully to activate kickdown. Stop vehicle gradually.
4. Connect test equipment or jumper between data link connector terminals TAT and GND. Turn ignition on.
5. Verify that no codes are displayed.
