Quick Test Description
DESCRIPTIONSystem is divided into 3 specialized diagnoses: Key On Engine Off (KOEO), Key On Engine Running (KOER), and Continuous. This is not conclusive by itself, but used as part of the functional Quick-Test diagnostic procedure. PCME stores the diagnosis program in its permanent memory. When activated, it checks the EEC system by testing its memory integrity and processing capability, and verifys that various sensors and actuators are connected and operating properly.
KOEO and KOER are functional diagnoses which only detect faults at the time the tests are run. Continuous is performed during normal vehicle operation and stores fault information in Keep Alive Memory (KAM) for later retrieval.
NOTE: Diagnosis requires Mazda Super Star II tester (49 UN01 056) and breakout box (49 UN01 058), or equivalent after-market scan tools.
