Clutch Switch: Description and Operation

Clutch Switch:

PURPOSE
Informs PCME that the clutch is either engaged or disengaged. Input is used in PCME calculations for fuel injection quantity, idle speed, A/C cut-off, and purge control.

LOCATION
Beneath dash at clutch pedal assembly.

OPERATION
An "ON/OFF" switch operated by the clutch pedal. When pedal is depressed, switch is "ON" (shows continuity). When pedal is released, switch is "OFF" (no continuity).
