Installation

Install in the order shown in the illustration, referring to the following steps.

Transaxle
WARNING: Do not allow the transaxle to fall from the jack.





1. Set the transaxle on a jack and lift it into place.





2. Install the transaxle mounting bolts. Tightening torque:
^ Bolts (A): 90 - 116 Nm (66 - 86 ft. lbs.)
^ Bolts (B): 38 - 51 Nm (28 - 38 ft. lbs.)
^ Bolts (C): 19 - 25 Nm (14 - 18 ft. lbs.)
3. Install the torque converter nuts and tighten to 28 - 46 Nm (21 - 33 ft. lbs.).
4. Hand tighten the No.4 engine mount nuts.





Lower arm
1. Connect the lower arm to the knuckle and tighten the clinch bolt to 37 - 53 Nm (27 - 39 ft. lbs.).





2. Install the ABS wheel speed sensor harness mounting nuts and tighten to 8 - 11 Nm (70 - 95 inch lbs.).
3. Install the clip.





Tie rod end
1. Install the locknut and tighten to 32 - 44 Nm (24 - 32 ft. lbs.).
2. Secure the locknut by using a new cotter pin.





Engine mounting member
NOTES:
^ Verify that the engine mount rubbers are installed as shown.
^ Put the No.2 engine mount stud bolts in the installing holes when installing the engine mounting member.





1. Install the bolts and nuts (A) as shown. Tighten to 67 - 93 Nm (50 - 68 ft. lbs.).
2. Hand tighten the nuts (B) and (C) as shown.





3. Tighten the No.4 engine mount nuts and bolts to 38 - 51 Nm (28 - 38 ft. lbs.).
4. Remove the SST (engine support).





5. Tighten the nuts (B) and (c) as shown. Tightening torque:
^ Bolts B: 75 - 104 Nm (55 - 77 ft. lbs.)
^ Bolts C: 44 - 60 Nm (32 - 44 ft. lbs.)





Oil hose
CAUTION: If reusing the hose clamp, position it in the original location on the hose and squeeze the clamp lightly with large pliers to ensure a tight fit.





1. Align the marks, and slide the oil cooler hose onto the oil cooler pipe until it is fully seated as shown.
2. Install the hose clamp onto the hose at the center of the mark and at the angle shown.
3. Verify that the hose clamp does not interfere with any other parts.

POST INSTALLATION
1. Fill the transaxle with the specified ATF after installation.
2. Check for leakage of ATF from all connecting points.
3. Carry out the mechanical system test.
4. Carry out the road test.
