Radio, Stereo, and Compact Disc: Service and Repair

The audio system's anti-theft feature renders the system inoperable after power to the audio unit has been interrupted. Deactivating the anti-theft function prior to performing repairs will assure restoration of audio system operation in case of the vehicle battery being disconnected or a loss of power to the audio unit during repairs.
1. Turn ignition switch to ACC position, then turn Off the audio unit.
2. Push SCAN and AUTO-M buttons until ``code'' appears in display window.
3. Push SCAN and AUTO-M buttons again until bars ``- - -'' appear in display window.
4. With bars displayed, enter owner-selected code number using channel preset buttons 1, 2, 3 and 4. Press button 1 for the first digit, 2 for the second, 3 for the third, and 4 for the last digit.

Note: Steps 1 through 4 must be completed in ten seconds or the setting procedure will be canceled. If procedure has been canceled, start over from Step 1.

5. Push and hold SCAN and AUTO-M buttons for approximately two seconds until a beep is heard and the word CODE displayed. CODE will flash for five seconds and then disappear to indicate that audio system is operable.
6. If ERR (error) appears, return to step 1.

Note: If personal code is not successfully entered in three attempts, anti-theft feature will activate and audio unit will then be completely inoperable.
