DESCRIPTION

A squeaking noise may be heard when entering or exiting the vehicle (applying and removing weight to the seat) or moving from side to side in the seat. The squeaking may be caused by the seat's height adjustment mechanism. Customers complaining of seat squealing (manual, driver's side only) should have their vehicle inspected and, if necessary, repaired.

REPAIR PROCEDURES
1. Verify the complaint. If the seat squeaks as described above, proceed to step 2.
2. Check the torque of the four (4) seat frame mounting bolts. Torque Spec.: 39 - 50 N-m (28 - 37 ft.lbs.)
3. If bolts are loose, tighten and recheck seat for squeak. If squeak is still present, proceed to step 4.

4. Remove an discard the tension wire located under the seat.
^ The tension wire may be removed without removing the seat from the vehicle.
^ The height adjustment feature will still operate normally without the tension wire.
5. Verify repair.
