DESCRIPTION
An intermittent whistling noise may be heard from behind the glove box when the A/C compressor engages. The noise may occur after 15 minutes at idle, in park, with ambient temperatures above 64 degrees F. The noise may be caused by the expansion valve resonating.
The expansion valve has been modified to eliminate this concern.
Customers complaining of this noise should have the vehicle inspected and, if necessary, repaired.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Verify the complaint.
^ If the noise is coming from the expansion valve, proceed to step 2.
^ If the noise is not coming from the expansion valve, refer to the workshop manual or the NVH manual for troubleshooting and repair procedures.
