DESCRIPTION
The front and rear door weather-strips can become damaged if interference exists between the weather-strip and the door sash. Damage occurs when the clearance between the sash and weather-strip is too narrow and/or when the weather-strip moves on the door frame. If there is evidence of interference and damage between the sash and weather-strip, follow the steps below for applying RTV(1) adhesive to prevent weather-strip movement.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
NOTE:
Before performing the procedure below, measure the clearance (top and bottom) between the front and rear door sashes. If the clearance is less than 4.0 mm, adjust the sashes by referring to Service Bulletin, "Adjustment Of "B"-Pillar Door Sash". Front Door
1. Remove screw from the black plastic weather-strip seal plate.
2. Gently loosen the five (5) lower retainers on the weather-strip seal plate.
3. Carefully push the weather-strip seal plate upward until the top retainer is loose from the rivet on the door.
4. Remove the weather-strip seal plate and door sash.
5. Remove the top and side portions of the door weather-strip from the retainer.
6. Clean the surface area of the retainer with a noncorrosive solvent.
7. Place a 5 mm wide bead of clear silicone RTV(1) adhesive inside the retainer. Refer to the dimensions in Fig. 1.
8. Install the weather-strip into the retainer and verify that the weather-strip is properly positioned in the retainer and on the door. Refer to Fig. 3.
9. Install sash and seal plate in reverse order of removal. Check fit after installation, adjust, if necessary.
10. Remove all excess silicone from visible areas the door.

REAR DOOR
1. Remove the three (3) screws from the black plastic weather-strip seal plate.
2. Remove the weather-strip seal plate by pulling forward.
3. Remove the top and side portions of the door weather-strip from the retainer.
4. Clean the surface area of the retainer with a noncorrosive solvent.
5. Place a 5 mm wide bead of clear silicone RTV(1) adhesive inside the retainer. Refer to the dimensions in Fig. 2
6. Install the weather-strip into the retainer and verify that the weather-strip is properly positioned in the retainer and on the door. Refer to Fig. 3
7. Install black plastic weather-strip seal plate in reverse order of removal. Check fit after installation and adjust, if necessary.
8. Remove all excess silicone from visible areas of the door.
