DESCRIPTION
Some glass run channels may shrink over time and pull out of position (up and toward the rear of the vehicle).
Customers complaining of this concern should have the vehicles inspected and if necessary, repaired according to this bulletin.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1. Roll the window down.





2. Measure the distances between the comer of the glass run channel and the comer of the door sash. Refer to Fig. 1
^ If the distance is 10 mm or more, proceed to Repair Procedure "A."
^ If the distance is less than 10 mm, proceed to Repair Procedure "B."

REPAIR PROCEDURE A (10 mm or More)

1. Remove the inner door panel on the affected door. Refer to section S of the workshop manual.

2. Remove glass run channel.

3. Remove all factory adhesive residue with isopropyl alcohol.





4. Apply a bead of silicone RTV adhesive 5 mm (3/16 inch) in diameter and 150 mm (6 inches) long on the new glass run channel. Refer to Fig. 2

5. Install new glass run channel into the door sash.





6. Roll the window all the way up to hold the glass run channel in place. Refer to Fig. 3

7. Install the inner door panel.

8. Allow silicone adhesive to dry at least 24 hours.

REPAIR PROCEDURE B (Less Than 10 mm)

1. Pull glass run channel away from door frame near the mirror.

2. Slide the glass run channel back into position.

3. Remove all factory adhesive residue with isopropyl alcohol.

4. Apply a bead of silicone RTV adhesive 5 mm (3/16 inch) in diameter and 150 mm (6 inches) long on the glass run channel. Refer to Fig. 2

5. Install glass run channel into the door sash. Refer to Fig. 3.

6. Roll the window all the way up to hold the glass run channel in place. Refer to Fig. 3

7. Allow silicone adhesive to dry at least 24 hours.
