NOTE:
^ Record the exact location of the air bag module wiring harness.

^ Refer to 1994 manual for 1994 model year vehicles and 1995-96 manuals for 1995-96 model year vehicles.

WARNING:
FOLLOW ALL PRECAUTIONS LISTED IN THE WORKSHOP MANUAL (SECTION "S") AND THE BETM (SECTION "S") WHEN HANDLING AIR BAG MODULES. FAILURE TO ADHERE TO THESE PRECAUTIONS MAY RESULT IN AIR BAG DISCHARGE WHICH COULD LEAD TO SERIOUS INJURY.

5. Carefully lift the affected portion of the instrument panel (between the instrument panel "pad" and the instrument panel "plastic shell")

CAUTION:
DO NOT use any sharp instruments to lift this portion of the panel. Use your fingers to lift this area and only lift the panel high enough to insert the tip of the glue applicator.

6. Apply an even amount of clear epoxy (3M 08107) across the entire affected area. Refer to Fig. 1.

NOTE:
Place a shop towel just below the affected area to protect against dripping epoxy.

7. Cover a wooden ruler (or equivalent) with a soft cloth and place it on the instrument panel over the affected area.

8. Attach three (3) binder clips evenly spaced along the covered ruler. Refer to Fig. 2.

9. Remove excess epoxy.

CAUTION:
If the excess epoxy is not removed, the air bag will not fit properly when installed.

10. Allow epoxy to dry for at least four (4) hours.

11. Remove binder clips and ruler.

12. Install the air bag module. Refer to section S of the BETM.

^ Correct air bag module harness routing is extremely important. Follow the exact routing as originally noted.

13. Connect negative battery terminal

14. Reset audio stations and clock.
