WIND NOISE AROUND SIDE MIRRORS AND "A" PILLAR

APPLICABLE MODELS
All 1993-94 626 models

DESCRIPTION

Wind noise may be heard around the side view mirrors and/or the "A" pillar. This noise is created as air travels over the gap or step of the belt line molding behind the side view mirror molding and/or the front window sash molding just above the side mirrors. Refer to the illustration.

REPAIR PROCEDURES
1. Verify that the forward portion of the belt line molding/sash molding is loose and/or detached from the front clip.
2. If detached, install the forward portion of the molding and glue the clipped area with clear silicone.
3. Eliminate the gap or step by filling the area with clear silicone.

NOTE:
Use only a minimal amount of silicone to perform steps 2 and 3. Remove any excess prior to customer delivery. To prevent the problem from reoccuring, the silicone must form a smooth gentle slope when dry.
