SEAT BELT SHOULDER HEIGHT DIFFICULT TO ADJUST

DESCRIPTION
The parts listed in this bulletin are newly established and should be utilized when repairs to the bottom spring are necessary. These parts are intended to reduce unnecessary height adjuster assembly replacement.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Use a fiat head screwdriver to carefully remove the plastic height adjustment assembly cover.
2. Verity that the button spring is in place.
^ If the button spring is missing or damaged, replace it with a new part.
^ If the button spring is out of position, return it to the proper position.
NOTE:
^ The button spring must be placed between the adjustment button, (cross shape protrusion inside of adjustment button) and the metal D-ring frame. Refer to Fig. 1.
^ The button spring can be installed without removing the height adjustment assembly from the "B" Pillar. If removal of the 17 mm bolt becomes necessary, make sure to retorque the bolt to 39-78 Nm (27-57 ft lbs)
3. Verify proper operation of the seat belt shoulder height-adjuster.
4. Reinstall the assembly cover.
