With Automatic Transaxle

PURPOSE
Illuminates brake lights and signals the powertrain control module engine (PCME) and the powertrain control module transaxle (PCMT) when brakes are applied.

OPERATION
When the service brake is applied, the stop light switch sends a signal to the PCME and the PCMT in addition to illuminating the brake lights. Both control modules read this signal as a deceleration indicator and use it to regulate their output signals accordingly.
