With Manual Transaxle

PURPOSE
Illuminates brake lights and signals the powertrain control module engine (PCME) when brakes are applied.

OPERATION
When the service brake is applied, the stop light switch sends a signal to the PCME in addition to illuminating the brake lights. The PCME reads this signal as a deceleration indicator and uses it to regulate its output signals accordingly.
