PREPARATION

SYSTEM OPERATION

1. Connect a tachometer to the data link connector IG- terminal.

2. Connect the special service tools (SST)s (Engine Signal Monitor and Adapter) to the powertrain control module engine (PCME).
3. Warm-up the engine to normal operating temperature and run it at idle.

WARNING: Confirm that the transaxle is in "Neutral" range.


Both Indicator Lamps Should Flash Alternately:





4. Set the SST to terminal and make sure the green and red lamps flash alternately.

NOTE:
- PCME terminal 2U Injector No. 1
- PCME terminal 2V Injector No. 2
- PCME terminal 2Y Injector No. 3
- PCME terminal 2Z Injector No. 4

5. Increase the engine speed to 4,000 rpm then suddenly
release the throttle.


Watch The Red Indicator Lamp:





6. Verify that the red indicator lamp illuminates while the engine speed is above approximately 1,000 rpm on deceleration.

CAUTION: Do not hold maximum rpm over 3 Sec.

7. Increase the engine speed and verify that the maximum rpm does not exceed specification.

Specifications: Approx. 6,300 rpm
