Transmission Temperature Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair

WARNING: Draining the automatic transaxle fluid (ATF) when it is hot is dangerous. Hot ATF can spill out when the oil pan is removed, causing burns and serious injury. Wait until the transaxle and ATF are cool before draining the ATF.


View: Solenoid Connector With Integral ATF Thermosensor:





NOTE: The automatic transaxle fluid (ATF) thermosensor is an integral part of the transaxle solenoid sub-harness assembly known as the "solenoid connector".

CAUTION: Obtain audio anti-theft access code before disconnecting battery cables.

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the resonance duct and the air cleaner housing assembly.

3. Remove the control valve body.
4. Remove the solenoid connector.

INSTALLATION
1. Install a new O-ring to the new solenoid connector and lubricate it with ATF.

2. Install the solenoid connector in the transaxle case.

3. Install the control valve body.
4. Install the air cleaner housing assembly and the resonance duct.
5. Connect the negative battery cable.
