NOTE: Obtain audio anti-theft access code before disconnecting battery cables.

View: Clearing Codes By Disconnecting The Battery:

1. After repairing a problem, turn the ignition switch OFF, disconnect the negative battery cable for at least 20 seconds, and depress the brake pedal to erase the diagnostic trouble code(s) from the powertrain control module transaxle memory.
2. Remove the special service tool (SST)-Self-Diagnosis Checker if it is connected.

Road Test Vehicle As Indicated:

3. Drive the vehicle at 50 km/h (31 mph) and depress the accelerator pedal fully to activate kickdown. Stop the vehicle gradually.

Check For Diagnostic Trouble Codes After Driving Vehicle:

4. Re-connect the SSTs to the data link connector as shown.
5. Turn the ignition switch ON.
6. Verify that NO diagnostic trouble codes are displayed.
