EGR Valve Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection

SST-49 T018 902 Adapter Harness SST-49 9200 162A Engine Signal Monitor SST-49 G018 904 Sheet Overlay:

OUTPUT VOLTAGE
1. Unplug the powertrain control module engine (PCME) and connect the special service tools (SST)s engine signal monitor and adapter harness as shown.

2. Connect vacuum pump to EGR valve and turn ignition ON.

View: EGR Function Sensor Test Voltages:

4. Measure voltage at terminals shown on table.
5. If not correct at terminals A and B, check wiring harness and 2I and 3D terminals of PCME.
6. If not correct at terminal C, measure sensor resistance, then wiring harness and PCME terminal 2F.

RESISTANCE
1. Unplug function sensor connector and connect an ohmmeter.
2. Disconnect vacuum hose from EGR valve and connect a vacuum pump.

3. Measure resistance between terminals as shown on chart.
