Heater Core: Service and Repair

1. On models with audio anti-theft system, obtain radio deactivation code prior to disconnecting battery ground cable, then deactivate system as outlined under Technician Safety Information.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Remove instrument panel as outlined in "Dash Panel Service.
4. Disconnect heater hoses from heater unit inlet and outlet tubes, Fig. 7. Plug hoses to prevent coolant leakage.

5. Remove heater unit attaching bolts, then the heater unit.
6. Remove heater core cover from heater unit then slide heater core from unit, Fig. 8.

7. Reverse procedure to install.
