Vehicle Speed Sensor: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
Provides vehicle speed signal to PCME for calculations requiring this input.

LOCATION
Instrument cluster with speedometer.

OPERATION
Sensor is an ON/OFF switch operated by the speedometer cable. Switch pulses 4 times per cable revolution. Frequency is used by the PCME to calculate vehicle road speed.
