EGR Control Solenoid: Testing and Inspection

VACUUM SOLENOID VALVE

EGR Solenoid Valve (Vacuum):

1. Disconnect vacuum hoses. Verify that air does not flow through valve.
2. Unplug electrical connector. Connect battery voltage across solenoid terminals. Verify that air now flows through valve.
3. If not as specified, replace solenoid valve.


VENT SOLENOID VALVE

EGR Solenoid Valve (Vent):

1. Disconnect vacuum hoses. Verify that air flows through valve.
2. Unplug electrical connector. Connect battery voltage across solenoid terminals. Verify that air does not flow through valve.
3. If not as specified, replace solenoid valve.
