Fuel Delivery and Air Induction: Description and Operation

System Diagram:

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Vehicle is equipped with a computer controlled electronic fuel injection system. System maintains an air/fuel mixture as close as possible to the ideal stoichiometric ratio under all operating conditions. Fuel is supplied to injectors at high pressure by an in-tank electric fuel pump. The Powertrain Control Module (PCME) monitors various engine mounted sensors, including an oxygen sensor, and uses this information to determine fuel injection quantity.
