Line Pressure

Fuel System Pressure Check:

WARNING: Before performing this procedure, release fuel pressure.


1. Disconnect negative battery terminal.
2. Install pressure gauge.
3. Reconnect battery.
4. Connect data link connector terminals F/P and GND with jumper wire.
5. Turn ignition "ON" and check line pressure. It should be 38 - 46 psi (265 - 314 kPa).
6. If pressure is low, check:
^ Fuel pump maximum pressure
^ Fuel line clogging and restriction
^ Fuel filter clogging and restriction

7. If pressure is high, check pressure regulator and replace if needed.
