Engine - Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch: Testing and Inspection

Coolant Temperature Sensor:

1. Unplug sensor connector. Remove sensor from engine.
2. Place sensor in a container with water and a thermometer. Heat gradually.
3. Check sensor resistance with an ohmmeter:

COOLANT TEMP. RESISTANCE (K OHMS)

20°C (68°F) 2.21 - 2.69
80°C (176°F) 0.287 - 0.349

4. If not as specified, replace sensor.
