DESCRIPTION

The room lamp does not illuminate. Even if the bulb is replaced with a new one, the problem may recur. The cause for this is the caulking of 10W bulb filament is loosened by heat. Poor connection of bulb holder may also cause this concern on the center interior light (MPV only).





The filament terminal material and filament configuration have been changed. Refer to Fig. 1.





The riveting method of center interior light bulb holder (MPV) has been changed. Refer to Fig. 2.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1. Verify concern.

2. Replace bulb with a modified one.

3. Check the bulb holder for the installation condition (voltage drop), and replace the interior mirror assembly with a new one if necessary (MPV Only). Refer to inspection procedure.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE FOR INTERIOR MIRROR LAMP - MPV only

1. Turn the center interior light switch ON to See if the bulb illuminates. If it does not, remove lens.

2. Replace the bulb with a modified one.

3. Turn the light on, and measure the voltage at positions (A) and (B) on the bulb holder (digital voltmeter is recommended for this work).

4. If there is more than 100mV difference between (A) and (B), poor contact of bulb holder is thought to be a cause.

5. Replace the interior mirror assembly with a new one according to the Workshop Manual Section T.

6. Verify repair.
