PURPOSE
Detects EGR valve position and signals PCME. Used to determine if EGR valve and system are functioning within system parameters. If not, PCME will set malfunction code 16.

LOCATION
On top of EGR valve.

OPERATION
Sensor resistance varies with temperature. PCME sends a reference voltage and calculates EGR valve operation based on resistance through sensor.
