Troubleshooting Procedure
Before starting any troubleshooting, become familiar with the deactivating procedure. Be sure to follow the deactivation procedure whenever the troubleshooting procedures request it.
^ The diagnostic module contains a self-diagnosis function.
^ This self-diagnosis function flashes or illuminates the AIR BAG warning lamp in the instrument cluster to indicate trouble in the air bag system.
^ The malfunctioning system can be determined by warning lamp illumination or flashing pattern,

* 1: If a malfunction occurs in the air bag system and the warning lamp is burnt, the warning buzzer In the diagnostic module sounds five (5) cycles of five (5) times each.
*2: The air bag module is connected to the clock spring connector, together with the horn switch. If the horns do not sound, check the air bag module connector connections.
Diagnosis of the airbag system is performed using the coded flashing of the airbag system warning lamp. The number of times the warning lamp flashes is based on the type of fault being detected. Codes are prioritized in such a way that if two or more faults occur at the same time, the highest priority fault indication will dominate until corrected.
