Audio Anti-Theft System Deactivation
The audio system's anti-theft feature renders the system inoperable after power has been interrupted. Deactivating the anti-theft function prior to performing repairs will ensure restoration of audio system operation in case the battery is disconnected or power is lost during repairs.Use caution when performing any repair that may involve the audio unit. The anti-theft system protection can be activated by disconnecting the battery cable, audio unit connectors, or a discharged battery. If three consecutive errors occur, including, but not limited to, turning the ignition switch to the Off position and disconnecting the audio unit, the anti-theft system will activate and render the audio unit completely inoperative. Always have ignition in the Accessory position when removing audio unit connectors.
